The cellar, in short

The wine list of a grill house in central Granada

Mesón Alegría's wine list holds 45 references across seven sections — whites, rosés, fortified wines, cava and champagne, Ribera del Duero, Rioja and other appellations — with bottles from €16.50 to €78.80. We are at Calle de las Moras 4, in central Granada, next to the Isabel la Católica Theatre.

  • How many wines are on the list?

Forty-five references across seven sections: whites, rosés, fortified wines, cava and champagne, Ribera del Duero, Rioja and other appellations. Bottles run from €16.50 to €78.80, and the full list is on this page with the appellation and the price of each one.

  • Are there wines from Granada?

Yes, four. The moscatel whites Calvente, from Moscatel de Alejandría, and Vicio, from coarse-grain moscatel; plus two from the D.O. Granada, Castillejos and Muñana 3 Cepas.

  • Which wine goes well with meat from the embers?

The house recommendation is Tamiz, a tinto fino from Ribera del Duero. For the grill the list leans on thirteen Ribera del Duero references — from Antídoto to Pago de Carraovejas — and seven from Rioja, among them Viña Ardanza and Muga. If you would rather ask, please do: there is an exact wine for every dish.

  • Do you have fortified wines?

Yes: Manzanilla La Alegría, Fino Pando and Pedro Ximénez Canasta. Those are the three on the list, and they work as well before the meal as they do with dessert.

  • Is there cava or champagne?

Four references: Bollinger Brut and Louis Roederer from Champagne, Vivanco Extra Brut from Rioja and Buche Brut Nature, from macabeo and parellada. For celebrations and group menus, book by phone on +34 958 04 91 71.
